Use a cow magnet on a string and swing it over the area it was lost.

Eddie,

If you had the hook lodged relatively superficially in most places in
your
body it should eventually be taken care of...it would just take A LOT
longer
than in a fish (it's not going to rust very quickly unless you're
swimming a
lot). In the mean time, you would have to worry about infection,
inflammation, etc., etc.

Your eye is a different story...it would most likely last even longer
than
in your body...and without the accompanying inflammation (your eye
isn't
readily susceptible to major components of the immune system...so no
swelling and irritation).

I recently lost two (of my 3) Mustad 277s SOMEWHERE in the vicinity of
my
desk...possibly the floor. My standard method of locating dropped
hooks...and remember that I am not very intelligent...is to quickly run
my
hand or bare foot across the area where I suspect the hook to be.
Usually I
find it...and I can usually get the hook out of my hand or foot with
relatively little difficulty. I tried this with the 277s...nothing.
Maybe
they're lodged somewhere in my big toe as we speek...

Cheers,
Chris
