Wool on large streamers (size 1, 1/0) soaks up a lot of water and makes
them extremely difficult to cast.
You could use McFly Foam instead. I've seen Don O carve up McFly Foam
into many shapes.....

Don't know a heckuva lot about salt patterns, but I would suggest trying
wool in place of the deer hair, like you would on a woolhead sculpin.
