Elk hair caddis
Sierra Bright Dot (see my page on Han's site)
Smaller stuff...18-22 "olive" nymphs (I usually use an olive flashback
pheasant tail or something similar).
Midges (black, grey, olive)
caddis larvae (esp olive and light brown)

I do A LOT of nymphing.
I am not very familiar with Yosemite, but the above patterns should work
well around Mammoth.  There are some neat lakes in the Eastern Sierra's not
far from where you'll be.  A couple of hours hike (at about 10,500 ft) will
get you to some nice brookie spots.
