Buck, I have used the vise-stem mount Mackenzie for quite a few years. Got it before people started using the Ott and Daylite types. While it serves its purpose, I dislike the fact that it is a small, concentrated bright light source, which is apt to give glare when using tinsel. If you tie a lot of streamers like I do, or other tinsel bodied flies, you'll find it can be near-blinding at times. Am constantly adjusting it to get the reflection out of my eyes. Because of this, I'm considering one of the OTT or Daylites.
That being said, the Mackenzie is handy if you travel and tie at shows/events, since it's already attached to the vise stem and you don't need to carry an extra item. Hope this helps. Cheers, CD
