Critter,

<"I know a box should be just a box, and the C&F's have a heavy price
tag...">

My comment on that would be: If you, like me, constantly are re-arranging
the flies, a regular 'fly-box' will soon become just a 'box'.

That's what really makes me consider paying a little extra for it.
Apparently it doesn't wear out like other foam fly-boxes. The problem right
now is probably which to chose. Since I can't check them out, it's hard to
know which model fits my needs. (But I'm fairly sure I will go for it. In my
experience a positive "VFB-review" is to be trusted.)

Nick...

I personally use the Small System Boxes. My chest pack easily holds two of them and the interchangeable inserts are very convenient for storing seasonal flies. They are much lighter than the waterproof boxes. If you primarily use dry flies I'd discourage the purchase of the boxes with the flip-leaf as the hackles may get crushed. They are fine however for nymphs.

I can't imagine living without my C&F's...;^)
