Gary,
I am so sorry about your loss. My love and prayers go out to you. Many times a fellow VFBer has a loss or asks for a prayer and I always keep them in my thoughts and prayers. Forgive my message regarding Mark, he's a tough bird and I just wanted to pick on him a bit. Your situation is one needing support of the whole group...and we will support you!
Send in the flys you have tied to date and other IOFF swappers will do the rest as a tribute to your best friend and love. Diane would not want you to abandon something which gives you peace. She would want you to tie and reflect on the good times you had together.
My wife is my best friend and love too. She bugs me to go fishing or tie flys, but she prefers I tie in the same room she is reading or watching a move in. Life without her is unthinkable.
Mother had late stage ovarian cancer too and has endured a total of 5 types of cancer with surgeries, radiation and chemo. My parents are not long for this world and I am an only child which puts extra on me some days.
Gary, I can understand and feel for you more than you might ever know. Call me if you want a friend to talk to or give me your number and I'll call.
You have friends here, don't give up. Grieve, and then live. It's what Diane wants. She loves you and will always be at your side. My number is 301-607-9047 or cell is 301-370-6067.
With sincere caring and condolences,
Dave Murphy (Murf)

I too must drop form the swap. Some of you may remember a year back that I had posted that my wife and best friend had overian cancer. It returned in April. Diane needed round the clock care. Diane passed away June 26th. I have at this time less than fifteen flies tyed. I no longer have the urge nor the ability to tye flies.
