You are new so let me tell you about the first ones I ever saw. Some of the list members have read this story.
This was about 15 years ago.
We had our monthly tying session and a good friend and old time fly tyer brought some Mustad 32's to show us. He carefully opened the wrapper ( Mustads were wrapped in wax paper in the box back then) and one of the guys sneezed. This made Harold flip the paper and the hooks went flying on the table. For the next hour the hooks were retrieved with a magnet. The ones on the table were easy to get, the ones that fell on the floor were harder to find. We did retrieve 100 hooks and felt that we had them all.

Tony, All: Geeeeeez.. I never knew they'd be that hard to find (no pun
intended LOL) If ya dropped one you'd NEVER find it .. Seriously.. I guess
it is a "supply and demand" thing huh?? What is the smallest size readily
available??? And those TINY hooks bring HUGE bucks it sounds huh???? Be my
luck, I'd try to USE it, and hang it in a tree right next to a hornets nest
first cast LOL...Chuck

Jerry,
Now I know what you meant. I sent out I think nine or ten sz 32 hooks
to friends that broke them or lost them. At that time I had 25 hooks, I
think I am down to 3 now. It took me five years to find those hooks. I
might of told this story before. I was doing a show in N.C. and a guy
came up to me and asked me if I ever saw size 32 hooks. He had two boxes
of them that he got from a show dealer for 5.00 a box. I had been there
going through the plastic tubs of hooks looking for some sz 26 hooks. I
never saw the 32's. When I got a break, I went back over and looked
through the tubs again but did not find any. He took my name and said he
thought he might have some back at the shop. In the mean time there was
a box on E bay that went for 277.00
I got a call from him about a year later, he had two boxes of the
Mustads, he wanted 295.00 a box. Needless to say, I passed.
I got the 25 I had from a shop in Canada.

You were the one that kept me in the SFP. I'd lost the two hooks
that Hans had sent me and you sent me one that I was able to tie a fly
on. The amazing part is a couple of weeks later I was cleaning up
around my desk and found both hooks. Passed one on to Rick Ross to
complete his fly, and gave the other to the owner of the fly shop I
frequent. He still has it in a small plastic box.
Not sure if I could tie one on the Mustad today. I can still tie
them on the Tiemco hook though.

Yes Jerry, I remember that one. I have tied a total of seven flies
on
the Mustad sz 32's. I don't know if I can still do it, my eyes are
really fading with age. I only have a few Mustads left, I might try
another at the Sowbug in March.
For those of you that don't know, The Mustad 32 will fit in the
   gape of
   the Temico sz 32.
