Bob: Thanks, now that is simple and to the point, and even I can understand that.... That helps a LOT... I noticed that some feathers in my kits were stiffer than others .... Now I know why, Chuck

The difference is the stiffness of the hackle. A dry fly needs to be supported by the hackle where as a wet the hackle implies motion of legs ect. Bob: Thanks for the info.. That is what is confusing me though. What is the difference in the feathers for wet vs dry flies???? I have been following this post for a while. The cost of hackle is the tyers bane. There is no sub for having the hackle you need. Trimming is not an option. If you are tying wets check out eBay there are a lot of full skins for under $20, and you get a few a few dry hackles to boot. There are Other growers besidss whitting. I would add that if you only want to get one bugger pack to start, I'd go with Grizzly. Seems to work with about anything. --- David Murphy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus.
