Don,
usually the weather here in central Europe isn't really dangerous,
during the summer thunderstorms, very seldom hail, but that's it. During
the thunderstorms you must take care of the lightnings, I usually leave
the water, when this mess starts.
But right now the weather is a bit more crazy here. During the last
couple of days we had a lot of thunderstorms, very heavy rainfall, and
even some tornados. 2 days ago we had a very short, but heavy storm
here. One roof was destroyed, and they fear that the building ( a larger
one in Cologne downtown) is run down. They secure it right now. 2 women
were killed.
This afternoon we had 2 very heavy rainfalls, we had some trouble to
keep the interior dry.
Animals: None really dangerous. We have one poisenous snake, but very
rare and no issue in this area. I thing you have more options to be hit
by a lightning than meeting one of those snakes. Sometimes I run into
some dogs and crazy dog owner.....
