Coffee bean and hot glue on top of a peacock body with a few legs works
good too.

Folks: My wife and kids LOVE Sunflower seeds, and were eating them the
other day when i was tying some foam beetles, so I took a standard foam
beetle pattern... Wrapped 4-5 strands of peacock herl for the "legs" all
along the hook shank.. then, took a half of a sunflower seed, and used CA
(super glue) glue to glue that shell to the peacock herl... then, Since
most beetles have shiny wings etc.. i painted the shell with a cpl layers
of hard as nails clear... Well, yesterday afternoon, by golly that thing
caught fish LOL.. Just a few Small Bluegill, but fish nonetheless.. Only
thing I'm gonna change next time, it that the shell floated, and the fish
are in deeper cooler water, so I'll wrap a few turns of lead wire around
the shank...The striped pattern on the sunflower shells looks just like
"Potato Beetles" that are EVERYWHERE around here, so I guess the fish have
eaten those before... Chuck
