Folks: Last night my wife and I went to a meeting at a local Fly Fishing club about 50 miles from here, joined up, and I think it is gonna be great.. It is the Rainbow FlyFishing Club (Cause it's in Rainbow City AL , not for rainbow trout LOL).. But it is neat, cause what they do, is meet on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30pm, but, since it is in the "Aquaculture Center" at Gadsden State Community College" we can fish in their Aquaculture lakes in the afternoons. They have two lakes.. One about 8 acres it looked, and it has 2-3 pound Bluegills and up to 10 pound Large Mouth Bass, Carp, and a few Small mouth bass... The smaller lake is stocked with trout each yr from about Oct till March when the water cools down enough... Last night, we had a speaker named Tim Page who owns "Tim's Flies and Lies" in Lynchburg Tennessee, and he is a Trout guide on both the Elk, and Duck river.. He had a great slide show, and told us all about fishing these two rivers etc.. These rivers are about a 3 1/2 hour drive for Me, but I may be able to check them out soon I hope... He showed us how trout were brought all the way from Oregon and stocked into those rivers (These Fishery guys were dumping them out of the fish truck off a bridge about 35 ft above the water.. I'm surprised any survived that fall LOL... But there are natural trout there too, just not in a big #...Anyway, next month the speaker will be a guy from the AL Game and Freshwater Fish commission to talk about all kinds of things about laws, regs, fly fishing, trout in AL etc..... and, each meeting everybody ties and brings at least one fly or more.. They  put your # in a gallon jug, and whoever's # is drawn wins all the flies.. Then, the 27-28th of this Month they are having a two day bass and Bluegill tournament in Little River Canyon in North AL.. I think we'll learn a LOT, cause they have some real old timers (Veterans) in the club... Chuck
