The subject always comes up on the warm water and bass boards. I just can't bring myself to use them in place of a fly. There's the problem of them staying on the hook during the cast. I'm talking soft plastics like Slug-o's, Fin-S, Senkos, Flukes etc. I
Actually, I don't know how
they assemble them. From what I've seen, it looks like they
thread them on the hook and then build the fly around them, which
leaves them pretty well affixed to the hook. I've never heard of
anyone complaining about losing them.......except to short-hitting
bass.
