Beg to differ with Del..have been riding a 250 Honda twin
since 1980. It runs great, gets over 65 miles per gallon, can hold its own
nicely on the freeway. May I suggest, however, that you decide where you are
going to ride, how big a bike you can lift up once you roll it over (yup, you'll
most likely do that), whether you are going to ride carefully or show off..and
how much you are willing to do to keep yourself safe. Helmet, gloves, shoes and
jacket the least you can put on, even in the hot summer. You must always watch
out for car doors coming out at you from cars parked on the sides of the street,
never make a left turn with yourself sitting in the intersection (do several
rights to get left..much safer in heavy traffic) always ride so you can be sure
that the car driver sees you in the rear view mirror, watch out for pedestrians,
bicycles..well, you get the picture. Riding is great sport..a nice way to come
to and from work if you can go the back rural way, but you must always drive
very defensively and remember, there is nothing between the road and you but
your skin.
Take care..carefully decide what you want
to ride and where you want to ride it..and be sure to get insurance..both on the
bike and your life. I love riding. Joyce
