I have been getting into so many materials and techniques/fly styles lately, but some I have no idea about. Tube flies in Australia are a rarity, at least around Victoria. I am heading to New Zealand for a month in December(hiking through NZ and fishing my way along) and would love to take some Salmon tubies with me. The actual tube is made of what exactly? Here I saw a pack of two tubes for around AU$7.00. Is it possible to make it up myself? Is it meant to be soft or hard?? Any good sites re: tube flies to recommend?
