I always liked the idea of having a full or large piece of skin for tying.
It is kind of 'raw'........more traditional in a way if you know what I
mean. It is less artificial than buying premixed dubbing with all sorts of
blends. I guess you could consider it getting back to basics. I like the
idea of using simple, natural materials to tie flies. It is not as if I
don't have a collection of all these modern , artificial tying materials,
but I just like getting back to what tying is all about. It is hard to
explain but I think you guys get my drift.
