Use a 'spare' electric motor for/from a sewing machine. I fill my spools from a 20000 m industry size cone of sewing thread (70 denier polyester thread) using a setup shown to me by Alan Bithell, a pro fly tier from the UK. He uses the finger loop of a pair of scissors to guide the thread off the cone (directly up) to the spool. He ground the motor axle (that usually holds a pully to drive the belt that drives the sewing machine fixtures) to accept a spool with a friction fit. I opted to turn a shallow tapered (somewhat like a morse taper) wooden dowel (on my lathe) that attaches to the motor axle and accepts thread spools on the taper. =============================== ><(((((º> =============================== | Dr. Henk J.M.
