Yep.  The hook on that fly would be held in place with some junction tubing
put on the rear of the fly.    You slip your leader through the tube and tie
the hook onto the leader than pull the hook into the junction tubing
attached to the back of the fly.
Neville....  I just sent you an email with the pictures of a Waddington
shank and a single hook with a vertical eye attached.  Let me know if you
didn't get it and I can resend it.

As I understand it, the leader is run through the tube and a hook is 
attached to the end of the leader.
