Some things never change. In 1952 (my first year driving) our family vacation took us from PA to Florida by by way of New Orleans. In LA, after driving past refineries for what seemed like half of the day, we pilled in for gas and paid the highest price of the whole trip. That was about $0.32 or $0.33 per gal.
