Matt - the campground at Avalanche is a good one and the fishing should be decent. Not many campgrounds in the area - a few RV pads in Coon Valley and some rental rustic cabins in the area.

There's more than enough water in the West Fork of the Kickapoo to last you a week, but when you get your Wisconsin license be sure to get the trout regulations map. Besides the Blue and Castle Rock there is the Green and Timber Coulee and several other Coolees around Coon Valley.

Great Italian restaurant in Coon Valey - Discascio's - if you get tired of you own cooking and want a sit-down white-table cloth dinner!

Good luck!

Subject: [VFB] SW Wisconson - Driftless Area

I am heading up to SW Wisconson for a couple days. Anyone have any experience/recommendations in this region? I am leaning towards Castle Rock, Blue River, or the West Fork of the Kickapoo.

To ease the pain at the pump I am going to camp(actually, I prefer it that way). I was told about a nice campground in Avalanche on the Kickapoo but would be interested in other options.

Thanks in advance,
