Hi Gang. I told you this morning that Dick Spinn was going to be OK after his Heart attack,while fishing at Philmont Scout Ranch with me and Dr. Steve Corwin, but now I'm the bearer of sad news. Dick passed away during his heart procedure this morning. Steve explained to me that when the cardiac surgeon scoped Dick's heart, he found advanced cardiac disease and 90 percent blockage inone of his coronary arteries. As the surgeon was attempting Angioplasty to open the blockage, the arteries and Aorta just fell apart and there was no way to save Dick. He was in good spirits last night at the hospital and everyone thought the procedure would be simple and he would be out and about in a few days. Jody and I just came back from visiting with Dick's wife Harriet and she's holding up well, but is shocked by the suddeness of the whole affair. Dick had been attending the fly fishing invitational at Philmont with me since its inception twelve years ago. He loved Philmont Scout Ranch and the little Rayado River. I'm thankful that Dick got to fish the Rayado, enjoy good friends, good food, and the wonder of Philmont one more time. Please say a prayer for his wife Harriet as she deals with losing Dick.
