Hi Gang,
I don't know about the rest of you, but my favorite flies to tie are those for steelhead. I like the size and I love the looks of a great steelhead fly. This swap will be for those who want to tie their VERY OWN Special Steelhead pattern, not one of the established patterns. This means there will be a plethora of colors and patterns for all of us to enjoy and fish or place in presentation boxes. As you know, there are many different steelhead flies, i.e. bucktails, caddis, matukas, streamers, shrimp, spey, muddlers, nymphs, marabous, etc. AND your own pattern. Steelhead hooks are available from just about any hook manufacturer. Just make sure your fly is steelhead size, anywhere from 1/0 to 8.
The Swap is limited to 20 tiers and deadline to sign up is Oct. 7. If we hit 20 tiers before, fine. I'll cut it off then. If we don't have 20 tiers by Oct. 7, I'll go with what we have. Deadline for flies to me will be November 30, so I can get them back to you in time for the winter Steelhead runs.
This will be a great swap for NEW tiers, for you will be using larger hooks, and the tying is much easier. Even if you don't fish for steelhead, you will still enjoy tying the great steelhead flies.
