Hi there Chuck: Many thanks for the bags, which just arrived. I actually came across a very similar material a week or so ago. My friend manufactures frozen meals and the plastic they seal on top of oven warming dishes is quite interesting. It is firmer than your plastic and should work a treat. If you are interested I'll grab some from him and send them your way. Otherwise, I'll road test them and let you know how they work out.
