Part 2 Wednesday I was up about 3:30, had a light breakfast and loaded the truck. Was on my way to ABQ to the VA for my ortho appointment on my knees, lower back and heel. Don't know if it was the cool damp air or what, but the trip this time was exceptionally uncomfortable. I found myself stopping more often to just get out and move around. Going through the mountains was even worse, probably the change in pressure, cold air and dampness. By the time I got to the VA hospital about 12 my knees were severely swollen and hurt like a train wreck. My lower back was not much better, if at all. I was having sever "tremors" and shakes in my legs and lower back. Tried to stretch and limber up the best I could but it was tough. Checked into my appointment about 1 and was in the exam room buy 1:15. The doc ran me through the wringer, he checked everything. Even had me walk down the hall while he and two other doctors watched. After about an hour and 30 minutes he started laying out his findings. He made the comment that one thing that really concerned him was the "spastic", (haven't been called that since junior high), movement of my legs when I walked. His diagnosis were such, I have bruised the bones in my right heel from excessively over working it due to my weak left leg, due to improper footwear I have developed "bone Spurs" on that heel as well. Damage to my knees over the years, (evident in the MRI and X-ray films), have caused weakness in the joints, tendons and ligaments around them. The MRI and X-rays of my lower back told him a lot. Degeneration in the bone structure from L-1 to S-1 with prominent changes in the L-1-L-2 and L-4-L5 junctures were pronounced. Also "bulged" disks in the region. 3 to follow Jimi -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Version: 7.0.344 / Virus Database: 267.11.14/131 - Release Date: 10/12/05
