Screaming reels?  Been there, done that.  Fun...but to be lost on a mountain stream with 8" native brookies....   and nobody around for miles.

Ahhh Jerry you must not forget we too can fish 12 months a year here and catch trout everyday.

Yup.  and as my wife constantly reminds, you have mountains, seasons and no hurricanes.

But,  for me just one 10-15lb redfish, snook jack, juvi tarpon, Bonito, etc, and

I forget about all the trout I have ever caught.  And I can do that most every day

 

I am not detracting at all from the trout experience.  In fact going to Cashiers for 4 days on the Tuck

next week.  BUT,  the absolute thrill of having a saltwater species (esp Pelagic) just

screaming line of your fly reel is my personal favorite.
