You put me on to the button on the post. I finally got it down pat and
it works better for me than using a hackle pliers.
Oh for a few more old bobbins. A friend of mine bought three off E bay,
they were the old ones.

tying post when he's done with a fly, thus keeping the thread from
retracting and not wasting thread. I simply clip the hackle pliers on
the end of the thread before I cut it..too cheap to even pull out and
thus waste even 3 inches of thread. This works well for me and I've
done it so long that it is habit by now. Try both ways and see if you
