You're forgetting the magic number... 'ZimZalaBillion'. It goes before,
after and in the middle of everything. With a wand and a black hat, you can
place it wherever you desire and it will fit right in.

The reason it's so rarely used today is that this hat was placed in the 'out
of fashion' cabinet a long time ago. To use the number would be the same
thing as saying "I wore that stupid looking hat."... and people are WAY too
vain to do a thing like that today. Instead they named a number after the
'Billion' part and then added an entire list with new names of the other
numbers... like we didn't ALREADY have enough technical terms to remember.

I am the fortunate guy here. My profession is to be a fool, so using this
number and make it easier for myself, is actually an advantage. People will
point and laugh, which to me is just another job well done.

Sorry Don but you meant 1/1000 of a Gazillion. It goes Zillion, kazillion,
Gazillion,....and so forth.

That's 1000 times as many as a Gazillion.

Ginger,

I don't like deer hair for crabs, anyway. It's too bouyant and not durable
enough. I prefer McFlyfoam Yarn, that stuff I showed you in Salt Lake City.
The duck and the crab were two of the flies I tied with it. It also makes
great sculpinheads. It ties like a combination of deer and wool- stack,
pack, trim.

Treated with floatant, it floats like a cork, and wet it's neutrally
bouyant, so it will readily sink with any weight, like the hook, lead, or
bead eyes. Comes in a kajillion colors too. Byard should be able to get it
for you, if he doesn't already carry it. THey have the drab olive-grey
colors that you need for crabs and stuff. There's a few tricks for tying
with it, but I can walk you through those.

Don

I'm not sure that spinning deer hair crabs is anything new if that's what
you're asking. I've had a green crab of spun deer hair on Hans site for a
couple years now and I got that pattern from a local tyer here that has tied
them for years. I don't think he limits it to just green crabs, that just
happens to be the pattern I chose to tie for Hans. Regards, Deb

Has anyone seen a spun deer hair mole crab pattern. I created one but don't
know if anyone else has. Want to write an article about it.
