Howdy VFB'ers,

I checked with Byard before saying anything, but my local club, Tri-County Trout Club, is having Ted Fauceglia as our speaker this Wednesday.  If anyone's local to the Pittsburgh area, let me know and I'll give ya directions!!

Ted Fauceglia’s
writing can frequently be found in magazines such as Fly Fisherman,American Angler, and Fly Tyer.  However, it is Ted’s photographs that have really brought him notoriety. Simply put, Ted’s photos are incredible.  If you aren’t familiar with his work, his favorite subjects aren’t pretty outdoor scenes or trophy fish, instead, Ted trains his lens on some of the more minute residents of the wild.  The subjects of his photos are the many insects that fly tiers attempt to imitate, such as, mayflies, caddisflies and stoneflies.  His new book, “Mayflies” is packed full of the vivid photographs that he is known for.  TCTC is proud to host Ted Fauceglia as our November 9th, 2005 guest speaker.  Ted will give a PowerPoint presentation entitled “Mayflies”.  It will give everyone a chance to see some of the best of more than 200,000 mayfly photos he took over several years to complete his book.  Ted’s book and presentation not only cover the majority of mayflies that are important to eastern fly fishers, but also offer effective fly patterns to match them during their various life stages.
Ted told me that he tries to make this a very interactive presentation, so feel free to ask questions throughout. Copies of his book, Mayflies will be available for purchase at the meeting at a discounted price of $35, with the proceeds going to TCTC.  This book promises to be a milestone in American fly fishing literature, so don’t miss this chance to get an autographed copy.  Admission for this special event is $5 for non-TCTC members.  TCTC members get in free, so please remember to bring your membership card.

Hot food and Copies of the book Mayflies will be available for purchase at the meeting.
