I started making ants abs beetles that way about 15 years ago. Netcraft
used to sell kits with the floss, Acetone, some patterns and
instructions. I still have one of those kits stuck in a box somewhere. I
do have a problem with the Acetone smell.
The Acetone melts the Acetate floss and it dries to a glossy plastic look.
Nice way to make ants and beetle bodies if you can stand the smell of
the Acetone.
