Jerry B suggests you get a more robust server to run VFB and install it in your basement, and it will heat part of your house. We have a old Sun UNIX box that will heat a room, and 4 PC's take care of another.

He may have been kidding, he's hoping by heating my tying room I'll take part in fewer swaps and tye more for him!

I tried to find a new Pantone brown permanent marker yesterday, but both

I know Spirit River carries permanent markers, but I haven't tried them or
seen them for sale. Maybe we can see if Byard can carry some, or special
order what we speciffically need, which is the cost-effective way to do it.

Yes...I can obtain a few different brands of markers. The problem is that I can't be competitively priced. I bought a set of the Sanford Sharpie Markers for myself. You can get a set of 24 different markers from Staples for less than 18 bucks. They're permanent ink and work great for fly tying. They also have sets of 17 and 8. The markers that I can get would have to sell for almost 6 bucks each!

Some things I just plain stay away from...;^)

But I have lots of other neat goodies. How about garment tanned Arctic Fox Tails for only $9.95. They normally sell for almost 20 dollars each...or a whole QuarterPounder of fox fur...super soft...you can make piles of zonker strips for a fraction of the normal cost!

I still have tons of Whiting 100 packs at closeout prices...and don't forget the Whiting Co-Ops...all colors in stock. Make sure you buy some of the new storage tubes to keep them nice and pristine.

Ever heard of Nymph Rings? Finally a solution for those troublesome split shot. I don't know about you, but when I use small split shot to get my nymphs down, I either lose some of them while casting and fishing or I can't get the damn things off of my leader when I want to. Tie one of these brass rings onto the end of your leader...add 12 to 18 inches of tippet and attach your fly. Need more weight than that? Slide one or two extra onto your leader before tying another on. Environmentally friendly and inexpensive. Plus you can re-use them...can't do that with shot.

Bead Nabber Tweezers are now available in a new smaller size. Stop pinging those bead heads across the room!

Lots and lots of stuff...new and old...at Line's End. If you haven't poked around the site lately, maybe today's a good day for that adventure...<http://www.linesend.com> Remember a portion of the profits go to keeping the VFB up and online...the other portion goes to keeping my house warm and my belly full!
