I also archive my S uperfly database about once a month just in case of computer crashes.  I have the Superfly program on my laptop, my desktop at home, and my desktop at work.  I have been accused of overkill when it comes to backups.  Gues who they come to at work, however, when they need a backup for a program...

My patterns are on the computer.  I use the Superfly program, which runs on all the Windows based computers I've ever tried, including my ancient  IBM Thinkpad, still running Win98...

Along those similar lines, I have tried Flybase and Superfly and prefer both and/ or either.  Of course, I use DirectCD to save everything on 2 different CD's that can be re-written to, in case one gets scratched or wrecked.  I'll have to look again once I'm home again to determine which is the one I prefer... but both are great.  I particularly prefer the one that has a listing of materials with searchable cross-reference of what patterns can be tied with what's on hand.  Also, I like that I can print out a list of what I do already have, so when I go to the shop or a show, I don't buy a 5th grizzley-dyed-olive genetic neck... though another would always come in handy... like I just did yesterday :)

Hope this helps more than it confuses,
Pete
