Martin, After fishing with Peter Gorinsky, in Costa Rica and Nicaragua, I purchased 4 or 5 Gatti rods (6 years ago.) And the 9' 10 wt and 8' 6" 11wt are still my favorites for those wts. I sold the 6wt & 9wt some years ago. The rod in question is an 8' 4wt (2Pc) and yes it fell victim to a fast closing electric .car window. I only lost 2" ( I said the appropriate blessing) and discovered it made a great short rod for the mangroves. Unfortunately, I could not horse fish from the shoreline with this rod. I eventually got around to contacting Sandro. As the rod was several years old and I did not have the original warrantee, he was kind enough to replace the tip section, provided I sent him the broken tip and a nominal fee. When the replacement came the UPS guy brought a 4' tube to my door actually bent 90 degrees at about the 2' mark. He sheepishly said, "I guess you don't to accept this!!" I confirmed his misgivings. :-) So back the tip went and the rod went to the storage shed, where I rediscovered it along with all the merchandise I recently sold on the list. I need to contact Sandro again and finally get the top half of my rod.
