It was actually the Douglas A 26 Marauder re-designated as the B 26. It was not The Black Widow
I will talk to you off list later so we don't get in trouble.

Sweet aircraft Tony.
I recognise it from study...did an analysis of it. Which of the 3 wars were
you involved in? Great a/c....only light bomber to go through all three I
believe (up to and including Korea).

Paul,
Several months ago I had an old Air force friend stop by that I had not
seen in 50 years. He had a photograph of us standing by the B 26 light
bomber we crewed, what a shock. Ray was 20 and I was 19. We looked like
two little kids standing by a big airplane. Now we look like two old
far-- that had been run over by the airplane. When I was in the Air
force I weighed 130 and had a 32" waist. I now am approching 76 and have
a 40 waist line.
When Ray stopped by, he was over 200 pounds.
Yes, photos can bring back memories

Perhaps it's a maudlin Merlot mood, but I've been struck by two recent
events. Just last evening I was watching on TV, once again, the pain of
those whose lives were devastated by Katrina. So often, the one thing
people strove to save, and felt so deeply if they couldn't, were the
photographs that chronicled their lives. This was also recognized by a
noted US photographer in a magazine article.
Not long ago I was contacted by the daughter of an old and treasured
friend who passed away several years ago. She had no photographs of her
father (as a fly-fisher) to show his grandson. As I write this my
scanner is preparing a twenty-photograph series for an album.
Remember that what you have captured with your camera, while perhaps of
only passing interest to you, may be of immense value to someone else.
cheers,
Paul
