Yeah!  We were really full of ourselves that day.  Hans gave me casting lessons outside after lunch, Bob got me hooked on glass rods, Byard and I sat together for lunch, Tony showed some neat tying tricks, Fishy tried to sell me a $10 kit to tie 3 hoppers, saw Dave Rothrock, met future friend Richard Ross, spoke with Dave Engerbretson's pal Leon, Harry III, many others.

Pine Clave VI was too short.  Remember our Cedar Run group with Byard casting under a wild apple tree upstream with me in a trickle and we had a blast.  You bailed early on us with Drew after seeing a baby water snake, eh?  Sheldon Seale tied me the worst humpy (said the scotch helped steady his hands?) he ever tied after the raffle where my daughter won the beaded trout from Claude Freaner, Splinta had food cooking 24/7 with Kat at the T-shirt stand...next time, let's try that again sober!

Were you at 7 Springs when I was there a year or so later?  Hans tied knots in the line being used for a demonstration on casting where the rod was removed piece by piece until his buddy was casting with his hand.  Hans conveniently was standing well back from the crowd but all eyes went to him as the knots appeared.  Hiner & Steeves, Bas Vershoor, Hans, Rick Ross...heck, Hans surely has the luncheon pictures at danica/flytier because I remember them.

Anyway, my home phone is 301-607-9047 and you VFBers take notice that I am stuck there in my office most of the time.  Jerry C (C stands for Can't see the fly he's tying), let's get together and get the youguns like Tony and Byard out to fish, tie and lie.  Judging by the number of fish Tony claims to catch on just his Chile Pepper, he must be good at the latter or have a hatchery out back.

Danged, got to get moving and start to plan for Sowbug.  Going to be my birthday present to myself and Lina promised to go with me.  Wait till she sees the birthday present she's buying me!  It's fit for a panda bear.  ;-)

Yep.  You and Drew had driven hell bent for leather up the New Jersey turnpike to make it to the tying show when it was held in Seacaucus.  Might have been the year I first signed on to the FF@ list, but I think it was probably a year or two later.  The first tying show I went to was to meet Hans and Harry Steeves when they still had a tying symposium at Seven Springs.  I know it was a 4 hour run up the PA turnpike.  Haven't seen you or Drew since the Pine Creek Clave.
