I occasionally use pigeon feathers for soft hackles because of their iridescence. 
I have also used pige-a-bou just because it was available.
 
Here’s a pattern on the web for a Tumbler Pigeon Fly.  The Tumbler Pigeon is a breed of Rock Dove aka pigeon.

 How come I have never come across pigeon feathers being used in any patterns????
