We got 'dusted' last night with about 4 inches-
just enough to make things messy. It's been like that for 15 years.
Rarely do we have a snowfall where I HAVE to plow the driveway. It snows,
the wind kicks up, the snow is gone. It's different up in the mountains
nearby. We're at 5500' and they're up at 7K+, so they get more, just not
enough. We need snow-melts deep into the summer (from deep snow-packs in
the high mtns.) in order to fill Pathfinder & Seminoe Reservoirs
again. When we don't have enough run-off, the river gets really low &
slow early in the fall, and then gets very weedy, making fishing
tough. If we're having a really warm fall, then the water temps rise,
which is stressful for the trout. One small benefit is some decent dry-fly
action at dusk, but hauling in a ball of weeds with a trout in the middle of it
is not too much fun.
