Preparing for Deb's Spey Swap, I've been trying to enhance the smooth bodies of my flies. In the past I've taken the tag ends of the materials to the eye or head of the fly as to keep everything uniform. However, I was looking over some of the tutorials by Ron Lucas and noted that he tends to trim his tag ends at the rear portion of the fly so that he can wrap the body more smoothly. The pics of his floss body wraps have a beautiful linear sheen to them indicating a very even and smooth wrap. Any suggestions as to how to best enhance a smooth body??
