Several days back there was a thread on pigeon feathers for tying. In my
internet wanderings I came across a pattern in The Complete Angler that
contains a pattern with pigeon!!!

The Complete Angler
Izaak Walton and Charles Cotton
Part II.
Chapter VIII.
July
7. There is also taken this month, a Black-blue Dun; the dubbing of the
fur of a black rabbit mixed with a little yellow, the wings of the feather
of a blue pigeon's wing.
Does Cotton mean a blue feather from a Pigeon? or a feather from a Blue
Pigeon?
Probably he meant a Blue Pigeon

Anyway, the Rock Dove or Common Pigeon certainly does have feathers that
you can use for tying.
The world is my source for tying materials, pigeons included.
