Jimi,
My limited experience with them is that they really love beadheads. I have
sat in a spot on a river in Utah where they are stocked and for fun just to
see how many I could catch reeled in one after another. I caught 50+ in a
couple of hours. My brother in law thought I was a liar. I took him back
after lunch and we each caught that many again. It may be different there
but I would guess they would love them.

Subject: [VFB] Hatchery Stocked Rainbows??
I know I ask this question a couple of years back, but I lost all my stuff
recently. Does anyone fish area's with hatchery stocked Rainbows? They
started the stocking of a couple of area's here and wanted to try for
some.
99.5% of them are caught on power bait and salmon eggs by bait chunkers. I
was wondering if traditional flies worked well on hatchery trout? Or if
particular patterns worked best? Will only have an occasional chance to
try
for some in Lake Carlsbad or Battan Lake, both on the Pecos river in
Carlsbad. If anyone has any particular recipes I would like to hear them.
Hope to try for some local, even though stocked, trout this winter.
