Rodney: Thanks... I'm a little dingy right now too Had to
have six epidural shots in my low back like I was talking about. I'll be good to
go now for 6-8 weeks. But thing it, I understand too many Epis are not good for
your body in the long run.. But, for now, it beats Constant pain... I'll
check it out for that stuff though, and that way maybe I can go longer between
epi's, Chuck

Jimmy & Chuck,
The manufacturer of this casting material is "3M"
and I apologize but I haven't had any sleep in over 36 hours, we've been
really busy, so I can't remember the actual name of the stuff... Just
when you go to a medical supply store, tell them it's made by "3M" and it's
the stuff that has a cotton material surrounding the casting material and
hardens without all the mess of regular cloth casting material... I hope
that helps, I'm just a little dingy right now... Sorry..

Chuck,
You should be able to purchase this stuff in any medical supply
store... I'll get all the particulars, name brand, sizes, etc., next
time I'm at a hospital... I'm working the ambulance today so should be
able to post that information later today... I know it comes in all
different sizes, (widths)...

Jimmy,
I've had problems with my feet also and what I've done, which has
helped drastically, and my feet don't hurt any more, is take some
casting material, (the kind we use at hospitals that are moistened
then wrapped around the extremity and it hardens very quickly), place
it into your shoes and the moisture from your feet will set the
casting material.... It forms to your foot and save hundreds of
dollars that podiatrists charge for inserts...

This
post is definitely Fishing Related.(SEE BELOW). If my feet get
much worse, I'll be confined to the tying bench and wading will be a
thing of the past. I made the comment several years ago on the
VFB that as long as I could wade, life would be great. Now, it
appears that I'm about to lose one of the things I enjoy most in
life. Read below and if any of you have any suggestions,
please speak up. If you want to do
it on list, that will be fine with me. Other members may also
have the same problem.
TNX for any help you can
give me.

I either have severely brittle metatarsals or there's something else going on with my feet. I'm now down to just one brand of shoes, (KSwiss) that give me any comfort. When I do a lot of walking, like shopping or walking my fence line repairing the fence at my ranch, the evenings are agony for both my feet. If I stay off them for a couple of days, they seem to be OK, However, another juant like going to Walmart with my wife brings the pain back with a vengeance, as does a day of wading when I'm fly fishing. My Podiatrist was of no help whatsoever. He just said that I had the same ailment as Jose Maria Olazabel, the golfer and it would take a long time for the metatarsals to heal. Didn't put me in casts, Nothing - just take it easy a few days. I'm about 20 pounds over weight and 5' 10" tall. Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated.
