Now you've done it Tony!  Just sent an order to Byard and now I'll have to place another before you all buy out his furled leaders he has on sale.

You didn't say whether you built your own or not.  Have you ever seen Claude's method with the drill?  Is your method different?

I have used them for close to seven years, Will not go back to the mono leaders. I have a 4 wt leader I have been using for five years and I fish it most of the time.
It is still in as good a shape as you would want.

I saw Rick mention furled leaders at the Sow Bug.. Are they worth the extra money??? I think we may have discussed this a few months ago, but my memory ain't what it used to Be. I think it was Del who was telling Me he tied his own, and I may only have to buy one or two per season, instead of a bunch of them. is this true??? And do you still use a tippet with a furled leader???Thanks in advance, Chuck

I've been using them for about 6 years now.  Was introduced to them on the old VFS Chat room by Hans W and Jim Cramer.  I'm not mechanically inclined it always takes me at least two hours to install a door lock, so I'm don't even attempt to make my own.  The ones I've gotten were done by barter for tying materials, hooks or flies.  I prefer the ones constructed out of tying thread and have enough to last me a couple of years. I've got some that will turn over a 28 and a couple that will turn over a salt water fly.  If you pick up those made of thread remember you need to treat them with a floatant or silicone paste or after a bit they absorb water and sink on you.  They seems to be a well kept secret here in SE PA.  I've had some "experienced" fly fishers tell me I'd do a whole lot better if I had a proper leader.  I normally fish mine with 5 or 6 feet of tippet material.
