Wes and all,

I refer to virgin vinyl like people refer to virgin forest- uncut. For the
vinyl cement that means no thinner has been added.

I've posted my vinyl cement recipe (and thinner) to the list a few times
before. It is similar to Dave's Fleximent, but is not exactly the same as
the thinners are different. It's also cheaper, as you can buy it bulk.

The vinyl cement: H-66 - Available at tent and awning shops, or maybe tile
shops. This is the closest I've been able to find to the stuff I used to
get from Ray Rumph, who discontinued it many years ago because of shipping
restrictions.

The thinner- 1/3 each (+/-) of MEK, Acetone, and Toluene. Home Depot should
have these- maybe the vinyl, too.

Thin as desired for penetrating head cements or coating for wings and such.
Dries clear in thin applications, a little cloudy in thick applications.
Seal storage containers very tight. Keep containers clean, or it will cloud
up. Don't get on your skin as the thinners penetrate skin. Needle-bottle
applicators are good for it.

Do not thin for durability applications- like flyline knot coating. The
thinner degrades the durability properites.

Ventilate the tying/use area very well, or you will develop multiple
personalities, besides the arrhythmias and headaches.

(DonO- don't tell them that!!! Let them find out for themselves!! I need
some more buddies! Buggs)

Hi, DonO,

Can you supply a brand name/ source for the virgin liquid vinyl. I am
not familiar with the stuff.

Thanks,
