Folks: I got the OK from Byard to make this post...It is
off topic, but near and dear to all of us, or should be.. We have men and women
in harms way, and like the poem Jimi posted, they risk their lives for us when
we don't even realize it. But, we CAN help them.. There is a site called www.anysoldier.com You go there and just
follow the directions..You can send our Men and Women in Uniform Letters, Gifts,
Care Packages etc..They have list of "what to send" and "where to send".. Read
those and it will tell you the things they need most. It will also tell you
things that are not allowed in certain countries etc. One Unit rep I read about
was/is from Eastern Kentucky, and He said "Our troops come from such poor
backgrounds, their families cannot afford to send anything...And this is not
just a Christmas deal. You can do it year round. And you don't even have to pay
Overseas postage, because you send the items to an APO addy and Uncle Sam picks
it up from there. As a disabled Vet who was separated from My family in
1980. i can tell you that this would mean more than you'll ever know to these
brave souls... Thanks, Chuck
