Tom: We are lucky here in Bama, to be only one of three states I think, to
have four pound bluegills on record.. We call those big ones (a pound or
better) "hubcaps" cause that is what they are shaped like. FL has three
pounders on record, but I'm sure 4 pounders have been caught there, just not
officially recorded... I've never seen a four pounder, but did see a 2 1/2
pounder and that thing was just like I said "a hubcap".. He was so old he
was jet black when he came out of the water. This was at a State Lake we
have near here and that guy had it mounted...It appeared to be about 14"...
