Jack and 'Longhorn' fans,
I hope I do not drop a clanger... You are talking about football?..<G>

I actually know a pattern which is named 'lonhorn'. It's a caddis nymph pattern. I tied it up for one of the mega caddis swaps, but this one was never published on a webside,
Here is the pattern:
Hook: TMC 100 or similar
Thread: Black
Abdomen: amber dubbing
Wingcase: Pheasont barbs, dark
Thorax: Brown dubbing
Hackle: Brown hen, short
Feeler: pheasont tail barbs, long, 2x of body

These feelers are the 'horns' in the pattern.

It is an official pattern from a book.

Actually, Rene, I'm considering some ideas for a "Longhorn" fly to tie up as a presentation fly for my daughter and some other kids who are set to graduate with her.  Right now I'm thinking of a hairwing streamer along the lines of the Cardinal, tied in burnt orange.  First step is to dye some bucktail burnt orange, since it doesn't seem to be on the shelf anywhere I've looked.
