Joyce:
There's a picture of it under "Black Flymph" on the Virtual Fly
Box. That was tied a while ago when I didn't have any decent soft
hackle. When I tie it now I use starling for the hackle.
Delaware Flymph
Hook: TMC 101, size 8-14
Thread: Hot Orange
Body: Black Dubbing
Hackle: Starling
Weight: Optional
You dub a cigar shaped body. Leaving space for the hackle and
head.
I tie in the hackle so it facing forward, then bring the thread back to the
body. Make two or three wraps of hackle. Wrap it down at the body,
trim excess, then wrap thread through the hackle. Build a head, whip
finish and add a drop of head cement.
You can use other colors of dubbing. I've never weighted flymphs, but
I know folks who do.
