To Tom Davenport
Dear Tom, Very nice from you to make this effort, and write in French. I have been very pleased. Sorry, but it seems to me, that I have to write in my correspondant language, too, courtesy obliges! OK, I will try to answer to anybody who asks questions about fly fishing in France. Firstable, Deborah DURAN spoke, in her mail, about a book from Jean-Paul Pequegnot. There are two other books from Pequegnot : - Pêche à la mouche en Bretagne (fly fishing in Britanny, rivers Elorn, Odet, Laïca.....) - Pêche à la mouche noyée (wet fly fishing) Pequegnot was a terrible flyfisherman, not a caster, but a catcher, and I met him 30 years ago on a small river in britanny called the"Guic", an affluent of the "Guer" (called downstream, the "LEGUER" as going to the sea, near LANNION) : You could think that he "invented" trouts from places where you could'nt imagine they were swiming. I own split bamboo fly rods designed by Charles Ritz, and manufactured by PEZON & MICHEL in AMBOISE, a French Town on river "La Loire" one of the biggest french rivers, where you can fish only "great shad" on fly. These rods were signed by Creusevault, World champion caster (who was my casting teacher), by Lambiotte in Belgium, pathe, Hans Gebetsroiter in Austria on the river Traun, Frank sawyer on Avon, Test, and Itchen in UK. They are all fine for me : It's not the advice of Joan Wulf in her very good book ,about "Fly Line Casting", but I agree with her when she says that graphite is a great thing. Have questions, and I'll try to answer Yours, sincerely Jean-François ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tom Davenport" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2006 6:00 AM Subject: Re: [VFB] Any Frenchmen on the Lists Bonjour, Jean.
