That reminds me.. I always have some dry clothes in the car. I took a buddy fishing on a mountain stream this year. His first time. I had my usual wet ading attire (shorts, tights, wading boots , woolen socks). He put on his breathable chest waders and wound them down to his waist. We had a bit of a laugh, I told him my story of giving up waders and just accepting I'd be wet.. its summer, all my clothes are fast drying and warm when wet. Ialso showed him my set of dry clothes i the back of the car. He claimed to have never slipped or fallen.
He put on his wading boots complete with felt and studs. (Me I had my hiking boots on rubber soled). At our first crossing, I headed into the water first and turned and said watch out it is slippery as I skated across the stream. I had barely taken two steps when I hear him yell and I turned to see him take a tumble and take a swim in the cool water (56F). Fortunately the only thing damaged was his pride....
We had a good day fishing: We encountered 20 fish between the two of us and landed about 12 of them..
