My worst fall was when I took a "shortcut" up a sheer wall of
boulders which provided the foundation for the railroad track bed
that was adjacent the river. I made it about 15 feet up when my wet
wading boot slipped on a rock and I started to fall backwards. I did
three backwards summersaults and ended up in about six inches of
water. Amazingly I wasn't hurt at all, other than my pride. I was
very lucky.
