Nev will never have to be concerned about being eaten by a bear. A bear would not eat him because he is to soggy from falling in the river all the time.

There are a few things that I forgot to mention such
as sunglasses and bear bangers. No Iain, Bear bangers are not sausages made from bear meat but an explosive device, similar to what the army is using in Iraq. These are used to attempt to scare the bear away. And, if that doesn't
work, I carry a set of red emergency flares that shoot into the air to
summon help and should be able to be spotted by passing aircraft.

I expect that there is a host of other things that I have forgotten. Yes,
the bear bells. I have three of them and attach them to my clothing to warn bears that I am coming. Otherwise, we have to walk through the bush, yelling
"No Bears, No Bears" and one get a bit hoarse!
