These days it seems I'm as much an instrument repair man as university professor...still tring to fix things that hurricane Rita messed up (no power and air conditioning for nearly two weeks in 90 degree 95+ % humidity tends to make them cranky)...good news is that a local branch of an industrial chemistry company is shutting down...and they donated a bunch of actually working instruments to us...many of the type we are currentlyt trying to repair.  so maybe the heat to get all these fixed will become a litle bit less.
